The day of love is February. Celebrate of Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine in UK.

Our favorite places for a romantic weekend in the UK.  It’s the most romantic season. Some people may be cynical about Valentine’s Day, but the last few years have probably blown that away. After all, nothing beats discovering the UK’s most romantic nooks. It beats the news. Get out and explore the UK’s stunning countryside, towns, and coastline.

This country is intrinsically romantic. Maybe it’s the history, poetry, love songs, or just the beautiful spots where it all comes together. But it doesn’t matter where it comes from. Planning a romantic weekend in the UK? Explore one of these romantic vacation spots.

UK Romantic Weekend Vacations

1. Lake Region

It’s difficult to describe a place as romantic. Isn’t it about the experience as much as the location? Who you are with matters more than who you are, right? Sure, but forget about all that and contemplate the Lake District’s wonderful romanticism. The open fireplaces in the quaint cottages are legendary, and the whole region is a wonderful hotel conveyor belt in a magical environment. Enjoy a ride on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway before visiting the home of William Wordsworth, the romantic English poet, and king.

2. Skye

The largest of the Inner Hebrides, it's home to some of Scotland's most iconic landscapes.

What is it? That the Isle of Skye is a romantic embodiment of love is OK with me. The craggy northwest of Scotland has attractive towns and old castles that are ideal for a romantic getaway. Book a yurt for a true back-to-nature experience.

3. Portmeirion

The quaintness of an Italian village and the persistent Welsh charm. Beautiful Portmeirion. Sir Clough Williams-Ellis created Portmeirion in the twentieth century, a beautiful collection of romantic houses and nooks suitable for strolling with your special someone. Portmeirion is a small town with few hotel options, but the Hotel Portmeirion, which is Grade II-listed, more than meets our needs.

4. Giant’s Causeway

The Giant’s Causeway, located near the northern edge of Northern Ireland, is mystical and enigmatic. Some say the causeway was constructed by a giant who wanted to reduce the distance to his great love but exerted so much energy that he perished in her embrace. Thanks to current technology, guests can just stroll about and admire the beauty of the surroundings before traveling into the hills for stunning treks and vistas.

5. Brighton

This south-coast gem is one of Europe’s most thrilling cities, full of adventure and adrenaline. Brighton is also the friendliest city in England, and it’s boutique hotels, antique shops, and exciting nightlife make it ideal for a romantic holiday. The retro-rockabilly Hotel Pelirocco is the ideal destination after a day of eating ice cream on the beach.

6. Pembroke

Pembroke Castle, a great medieval castle in the heart of South Wales.

Pembrokeshire is a magical mix of breathtaking natural beauty and a remarkable narrative. This is stunning Wales, with amazing treks over some of the UK’s greatest beaches. There are no terrible stops, but Dale is a terrific place to start exploring Pembrokeshire. Prepare for major cramping.

7. Dumfries

While tourists throng to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the Highlands, Dunfermline remains relatively undiscovered. A stunning location near the Forth helps. From Dunfermline Abbey and Robert, Bruce’s tomb to St Margaret’s Cave and Pittencrieff Park, Scotland’s old capital has it all.

8. York

York’s cobblestone streets beckoned. Its small alleyways conjure up wistful images of love and yearning from a bygone era. It’s also one of the country’s most intriguing culinary towns, but you can skip the fine dining and gorge at Heavenly Desserts. Discover more amazing trip in York.

9. St. Ives

St Michael's Mount is a historic castle, garden and island community found off the coast of Marazion in Cornwall.

Honestly, every site in Cornwall has enough romanticism to ease the spirit. Padstow has the restaurants and the Scilly Isles the remoteness, but St Ives is where the county’s finest meet. The vistas across St Ives Bay are swoon-worthy, as are Porthminster Beach and St Michael’s Mount. Finish with supper at Cellar Bistro, a charming boutique restaurant with great cuisine.

10. Liverpool

With or without Liverpool, the Beatles revolutionized the love song for a new generation of music enthusiasts. The Mersey has seen good and terrible times, but it has an unbreakable character that makes it a great metaphor for love. Take a trip along Lark Lane (Aigburth), one of northern England’s most lovely lanes.

11. Brecon Beacon

The Brecon Beacons are one of Wales’ most romantic destinations. Looking to conquer a significant obstacle with your beau? Hike to the summit of Pen y Fan and feel on top of the world (or at least of the Brecon Beacons). Looking for something easy on the lungs? Walk along the Montgomeryshire and Brecon Canal, named Britain’s loveliest. Stop for dinner and a stay at the Felin Fach Griffin.

12. North Norfolk’s coast

Using the term “underrated” is a lazy cliché nowadays, yet it seems appropriate for this wonderful stretch of water in the east of England. Norfolk is often neglected, although its shoreline is among the greatest in the UK. Seaside villages, windswept beaches, and the greatest fish and chips in Britain make for a romantic getaway that is all about getting down to the fundamentals of love. Cromer is a delight, with boutique coffee shops that double as art galleries and the sea as a backdrop.

13. Carrickfergus

Carrickfergus, a small town 11 miles from Belfast, gleams with the pride of a community that understands its past. Carrickfergus Castle has inspired artists and poets for generations. You could be inspired as the sun sets in the distance, bathing this 12th-century beauty in light.

14. Edinburgh

I adore Edinburgh. The Scottish capital is a romantic haven, with dramatic ancient buildings bursting with love and passion stories, renowned avenues, and endless vistas. The Balmoral Hotel has some of the nicest views of the Old Town and Royal Mile, and the plush mattresses will ensure a good night’s sleep. That’s vital after climbing Arthur’s Seat to kiss the metropolis stretching out in front of you.

15. Bath

Bath’s spas are among the most romantic in the UK. Some of the top things to do in Bath seem like the ideal romantic vacation, from river punting to admiring the renowned architecture to sipping drinks and indulging in gourmet nirvana. Then there’s the luxury of warm baths and massages before more drinks and gourmet meals. It’s fantastic.
